DICED is here to bring you better salads, wraps + bowls in NC.
DICED is a fast-casual restaurant based out of Cary, North Carolina. At DICED, we believe in sourcing the highest quality (organic veggies, grass-fed filet, antibiotic free chicken) ingredients possible so that you are getting the best food for your body. You shouldn’t have to wonder what’s in your food. When choosing your salad, wrap or bowl, you can visually see each fresh ingredient that goes in.
If you don’t recognize an ingredient, your body won’t either. All of our ingredients are recognizable as real, whole, nutritious foods from the earth.
The first Diced location opened its doors in 2015 on Kildaire Farm Rd. in Cary, NC. When the first customers stepped in the store they were surprised to see a line full of freshly cut, locally sourced produce and protein, ready for fast easy consumption. Unlike the chain restaurants that dominated the area Diced was now offering Cary locals a healthy alternative.
Michelle, originally from Washington D.C., relocated to NC in 2015. An athlete from a young age, she was always concerned with promoting a healthy lifestyle. Michelle pursued a degree at the University of Louisville in Business Marketing and Exercise Science, with future plans of a career in Physical Therapy. While at Louisville, she was a part of multiple national and world championship teams, as well as Team USA in 2012. She was accustomed to bringing her A-game. However, her get up and go desire in each activity/job was affected greatly by the people she worked with. She noticed that the teams she won championships with weren’t the most talented, but the most connected. It became clear to her that a workplace that thrives on effective teamwork, creates happy and enthusiastic employees. That is when she became inspired to create a place people want to work, have fun with what they do, where they can be proud of their employment and get joy from helping others by promoting a healthy lifestyle. That’s when the brainstorming began.
Opening a restaurant was an exciting challenge and adventure as she moved to Cary by herself to make her dream a reality. Michelle started the framework for Diced while still working her physical therapy job and after two years of formulating the menu, creating the recipes, and pure grinding… the first Diced finally opened its doors. Michelle worked at Diced (D1) day in and day out, making improvements to the space and the menu consistently to grow the reputation in the area. Michelle’s brother (John) and Rob (who was hired before we opened our doors) were two people who also had a huge part in making Diced what it is today. We all knew we would be there every step of the way as the business grew. Michelle is beyond dedicated to giving her all to make Diced a success for everyone involved, no matter what it takes.
With the opening of her first store, Michelle became the youngest female business owner in the triangle area and being new to the business, food providers constantly tried to convince Michelle to score cheaper prices for mass produce. However, she would not compromise and stands by her belief that “quality matters in how you feel.” She reached out and negotiated with local farmers and distributors and secured deals that guarantee Diced customers receive the freshest, non-GMO, grass fed, no pesticides, and healthiest foods possible.
